Hello, my name is Marcus Powe and welcome to the first step. You are welcome to explore, try new things and hopefully increase the number of choices to grow your idea into a commercial opportunity.
I am talking about market reality. It's about how you can move to and from ideas to maximise choice.
The five main elements that we're going to look at are:
- Mindshare – mindshare, what's that? How can we in fact open our mind to recognise opportunities? How can we use creativity, innovation to increase our choices in the marketplace?
- Part two is all about Screening, all those ideas that we're going to identify, discover and even trip over! Screening, can you imagine a funnel? We tip all these ideas into it and what comes out the bottom? We hope a commercial opportunity.
- Part three is the Toolkit. Innovation to me is really a set of tools that we can use at the right time, at the right place, to adjust our business idea to maximise our choice in that market.
- Planning, we've probably heard of that old one "Are you planning to fail because you failed to plan?" or are we going to actually get some planning so we know when we arrived at our successful outcome.
- Then the last thing, part five – Action. Can you do it? Can you really do it? We'll discover and try some techniques to make sure that we can get to our goal.
I suppose to summarise this introduction for you is that how can we in fact get to where we want to with minimum effort for maximum result?
